3 Ways to Wear Silver Boots | Look 3

adidastee3adidastee7 adidastee2adidastee5adidastee4adidasteeadidastee6adidastee10adidastee8Faux Fur Coat (similar) – Topshop | T Shirt– Adidas @ ASOS | Jeans (similar)– ASOS | Boots- Primark | Hoops (old)- H&M

Hello Lovelies. I feel like recently my blog posts have been very consistently outfit based. I want to try to mix it up a little but hey I think we can fit in one more this week eh? This is my final of three looks on how I style these shiny shiny metallic boots. Which are no less than £12 from Primark! And yes I have been wearing them just as much in real life I’m pleased to announce.

For today’s look I’ve went for a bit of a retro sporty vibe. Mostly because I bloody love this classic Adidas tee and might have to buy it in ALL the colours I can find. But that’s just how I roll… These cropped flares are also one of my staple pieces. I bought them last year so it’s likely they’re not available anymore but I’ll do my utmost to find something similar. If you’re a shortie like me and you wanna go for flares, cropped is the easy way out. Unless you enjoy wearing heels I suppose. I’ve thrown it all together with a faux fur coat as its gotten real chilly outside lately.

My hair has had a bit of a winter over haul too. I was getting so so bored growing it out so now I have a bit of a fringe. It gives me the illusion of looking kinda cool when I’m actually really not- perfect! Thoughts?

3 Ways to Wear Silver Boots | Look 2

Apologies for this post as I now realise its just a teeny tiny bit Topshop heavy… Oh and most of this is old stock so is probably unavailable now! Despite these blogger faux pas, I hope you enjoy my second idea for styling up these Primark silver boots. Also I have finally managed to get these three looks up on YouTube in Look Book form. My gosh was that a challenge and a half- seriously hats off to anyone who makes Look Books on a regular basis. Realistically it probably gets a lot easier. But for now I’m super proud of my efforts.

I’d love to know your thoughts?

3 Ways to Wear Silver Boots | Look 1

fedora2fedorafedora7fedora8fedora4fedora5fedora3fedora6Boots- Primark | Culottes– Zara | Jumper (similar)– Topshop | Belt (old) – Topshop | Fedora (similar)– ASOS

Hello Lovelies! And welcome to Part 1 of another Ways to Wear series. I’m actually in the middle of editing a look book for YouTube featuring 3 outfits. For now though here’s a little blog post taster of all the action. These silver boots are a brand new buy from Primark. As they’ve been so popular this season I’ve styled them up in a variety of ways, all of which seem to have a nod to a 60s or 70s look. Metallic boots conjour up images of 70s Rock N Roll stars and 60s mod girls in my head. So I thought let’s go with it.

My fedora has been a long standing staple of my Autumn/ Winter wardrobe. Although fedoras don’t seem to be as ‘on trend’ lately I think it looks great with the oversize knit and wide leg culottes. The culottes were a very summery buy from Zara but I think you can easily work them for the colder months with a jumper and pair of boots. I also adore the polka dot print and think  it can make any outfit a little quirky!

Thoughts ect?

November Primark Haul & Try On

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Hello Lovelies! Today I’ve somehow against the odds managed to film and upload my first ever Primark Haul for YouTube.  Primark Hauls have long been one of my absolute favourite type of YouTube video to watch. I mean who doesn’t want to feel amazed by the awesome bargains available in one of the UK’s most loved stores? I can’t say I’m completely happy with my dodgy standard of editing or my totally awkward persona in this video BUT everyone has to start somewhere! At least there’s room for improvement…

So feel free to take a look and let me know your favorite piece.

I also really wanted to do a post linked to a brand new YouTube video- my second ever you know! So here we are with another make up look. This one is super simple although you wouldn’t think it from the list of products. In my opinion its a bit of a classic. Plus I wanted to experiment creating the perfect red lip and try out my new NYX lip liner. Enjoy… make-up-2make-up-5

Dyeing My Hair With Henna

henna henna2 henna5

|Henna Hair Dye– Lush|

Having been an avid user of home hair dyes for almost as long as I can remember (I was 13 when I last saw my natural hair colour FYI) my hair has started to react badly to the dyeing process. I mean I’ve had a mane every colour under the sun at some point- yes including bright blue.  So after a lot of fretting and some serious consideration. I decided to try something more natural than your average at home box dye.

My friend Rachel has been using Henna for a while and I really think that her hair looks a lot thicker. A few weeks ago I popped into Lush and got my hands on some. Henna has been used to dye hair for thousands of years.  Apparently its supposed to be conditioning and also promote hair growth as oppose to chemical dyes which can be damaging. Believe me I know! Lush currently stock four different shades. I went for Brun or Hot Chocolate as it gives you the shade closest to my natural colour. As with all hair dye it can create different effects depending what colour your own hair is. For example if you have very light hair naturally some shades could go a vibrant red. So just bare that in mind.

Now I’m going to be totally honest in this post. Henna is a huge faff on to apply in comparison to your average box dye. Firstly it needs to be cooked, then cooled to a comfortable temperature and once it is ready to apply  it’s just so so so messy. Newspaper over entire surfaces is a must. It takes around three hours to develop. And I had to apply it twice within a week to get the vibrancy I required. Above is a little bonus photo of me with the Henna on- not very attractive right? For me, there was still as much breakage as there would be with your average dye although perhaps my hair is just that damaged…

But ultimately since using the Henna my hair’s condition is the best it’s been in such a long time. Super soft and super silky. Possibly making all the faff worth it. Swings and Roundabouts I guess!

Have you ever tried Henna? I’d love to know your thoughts.

Two ways to wear a cropped printed jumpsuit- Part 2

floraljumpsuit floraljumpsuit3 floraljumpsuit6floraljumpsuit8floraljumpsuit7 floraljumpsuit9

Hello Lovelies! I know this post is supposed to be all about the jumpsuit but… First things first- some of you may have noticed that tonight is Bonfire Night. I’m super duper excited to go see some fireworks at our local display, which always turns out to be an amazing show. And maybe get some hot chocolate too for good measure. Once Bonfire Night is over the happiest time of year also begins (it’s Christmas time in case you’re wondering!) In my head anyway- I know not everyone is so full of Christmas cheer. Unfortunately.

But I suppose if you’ve come to this post you’re probably here for the clothes and not my yabbering…

floraljumpsuit10 floraljumpsuit11 floraljumpsuit15floraljumpsuit14|Jumpsuit (sold out) – Topshop | Shirt (old) – Urban Outfitters| Coat (similar)- ASOS | Boots- Primark | Belt- Topshop|

This is one of the few outfits that I’ve uploaded in a lonnnnng time where I’m like you know what I really love this look. To begin with, I wasn’t sure whether the jumpsuit would look so great layered as its such a summery piece but I think it really works for Autumn. I also absolutely adore this belt and just wish I wore it more often. It was available in two colours when I bought it and I should’ve really went for both! These Primark booties are so old that I’m honestly surprised they’re still going. It seems  Primark’s quality is actually better than people give it credit for. And it’s great to have a bit more height because lets be honest as a little person (5ft3 eek!) its not often that I feel tall wearing culottes. And particularly not a jumpsuit with culottes.

Thoughts?

Warm Toned Autumn Make Up Look

make-up make-up2

So I figured it had been such a long time since I’d done a make up post on here. I still love make up as much as ever so lets share the love. It’s also the first ever time I’ve branched out to film a little tutorial to go alongside my post. Yes it seems I’m moving with the times and getting acquainted with YouTube! I’ve actually wanted to try filming something for ages and  think video is by far the best media when it comes to make up tutorials. I don’t know about you but I find it super difficult to follow written instructions. Obviously my editing skills are terrible at this point so please be kind…

Of course I’ve gone for an Autumn inspired look- I mean what else would I really do? I’m all about the Autumnal posts right now. I absolutely love the Naked 2 palette for warm tones so really it was a no brainer. It’s got to be my favourite out of all the Naked palettes. Probably because its suits my colouring best. I’ve used MAC Lip Pencil  in Bittersweet all over my lips and then layered Nars Lip Pencil in Walkyrie over the top. I think it gives a really striking look and I do love a bold lip, especially for Autumn/ Winter. Although looking at these photos my lip liner looks super wobbly which makes me sad!

Oversize Camel Coat

Hello Lovelies! And welcome to a very autumnal themed blog post. To be completely honest I’m so sick of hearing the word autumnal and I’m pretty sure you must be too. But I’m just gonna throw it out there one last time…

So as you can see I have got my hands on a perfect oversize camel coat recently. I’ve been keeping my eye out for one for a good few winters now but nothing has seemed like the ‘one’ – if that makes sense? Well it is true that good things come to those who wait and I snapped this one up from ASOS outlet for a stupidly good price. I guess it must be last years stock. I can be one of those people who goes for the most current, trend led pieces sometimes. So I’m feeling pretty pleased with myself for stepping away from my usual habits. Next stop, a little vintage shopping perhaps.

Anyway I’ve decided to keep it current with a bit of awkward layering which is so popular right now. Along with these awesome patchwork snakeskin booties. They’re actually really uncomfortable to walk in but look great at this time of year. I think it’s something about the orange leaves that make these tones pop in photos. Unfortunately WordPress has a habit of destroying the quality of my images and making them look all pixelated when I upload them. Which is driving me crazy. I’m no good when it comes to coding so it’s gonna take me a while to fix this issue I reckon! Enough of the tech talk though…

Wonderful Edinburgh

edinburgh edinburgh3edinburgh7edinburgh6 edinburgh5edinburgh2I feel like if you follow a lot of UK blogs or Instagram accounts, you have probably already heard Edinburgh’s praises a hundred times over. But yes I’m here to once again tell you not only how it is one of the most beautiful cities in the UK but also that it is one of the most inspiring. OK so I’m gonna make a grand statement here and say that in my opinion it is the UK’s prettiest city. I mean there’s a whole host of Insta accounts dedicated to showing off just how photogenic the place is. And FYI here are a few of my faves: igersedinburgh, exploringedinburgh and travelswithmyphone. So really the final lady travels but Edinburgh features a lot in her feed.

Beautiful architecture and quaint cobbled streets aside, there is so much to see in the Scottish capital. I’m lucky to have been brought up fairly close to the Scottish Boarder so my parents were much more likely to take us on a trip to Edinburgh than London as a desperate attempt to keep us entertained in  the school holidays. But I’ve got to say I was always pretty OK with that. The city is full of history, galleries, awesome shopping and great places to eat. Not to mention the zoo! Plus it’s especially beautiful at Christmas time.

These photos were taken a few weeks ago when me and my mam took a day trip on the train. I know all the bad blogger points for me taking so long to get this post organised! I returned home feeling inspired and can’t wait for my next visit- for a bit of Christmas shopping perhaps?

Have you ever been to Edinburgh? Thoughts?
