3 Ways to Wear Silver Boots | Look 3

Hello Lovelies. I feel like recently my blog posts have been very consistently outfit based. I want to try to mix it up a little but hey I think we can fit in one more this week eh? This is my final of three looks on how I style these shiny shiny metallic boots. Which are no less than £12 from Primark! And yes I have been wearing them just as much in real life I’m pleased to announce.

For today’s look I’ve went for a bit of a retro sporty vibe. Mostly because I bloody love this classic Adidas tee and might have to buy it in ALL the colours I can find. But that’s just how I roll… These cropped flares are also one of my staple pieces. I bought them last year so it’s likely they’re not available anymore but I’ll do my utmost to find something similar. If you’re a shortie like me and you wanna go for flares, cropped is the easy way out. Unless you enjoy wearing heels I suppose. I’ve thrown it all together with a faux fur coat as its gotten real chilly outside lately.

My hair has had a bit of a winter over haul too. I was getting so so bored growing it out so now I have a bit of a fringe. It gives me the illusion of looking kinda cool when I’m actually really not- perfect! Thoughts?

3 Ways to Wear Silver Boots | Look 2

Apologies for this post as I now realise its just a teeny tiny bit Topshop heavy… Oh and most of this is old stock so is probably unavailable now! Despite these blogger faux pas, I hope you enjoy my second idea for styling up these Primark silver boots. Also I have finally managed to get these three looks up on YouTube in Look Book form. My gosh was that a challenge and a half- seriously hats off to anyone who makes Look Books on a regular basis. Realistically it probably gets a lot easier. But for now I’m super proud of my efforts.

I’d love to know your thoughts?

3 Ways to Wear Silver Boots | Look 1

fedora2fedorafedora7fedora8fedora4fedora5fedora3fedora6Boots- Primark | Culottes– Zara | Jumper (similar)– Topshop | Belt (old) – Topshop | Fedora (similar)– ASOS

Hello Lovelies! And welcome to Part 1 of another Ways to Wear series. I’m actually in the middle of editing a look book for YouTube featuring 3 outfits. For now though here’s a little blog post taster of all the action. These silver boots are a brand new buy from Primark. As they’ve been so popular this season I’ve styled them up in a variety of ways, all of which seem to have a nod to a 60s or 70s look. Metallic boots conjour up images of 70s Rock N Roll stars and 60s mod girls in my head. So I thought let’s go with it.

My fedora has been a long standing staple of my Autumn/ Winter wardrobe. Although fedoras don’t seem to be as ‘on trend’ lately I think it looks great with the oversize knit and wide leg culottes. The culottes were a very summery buy from Zara but I think you can easily work them for the colder months with a jumper and pair of boots. I also adore the polka dot print and think  it can make any outfit a little quirky!

Thoughts ect?

November Primark Haul & Try On

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Hello Lovelies! Today I’ve somehow against the odds managed to film and upload my first ever Primark Haul for YouTube.  Primark Hauls have long been one of my absolute favourite type of YouTube video to watch. I mean who doesn’t want to feel amazed by the awesome bargains available in one of the UK’s most loved stores? I can’t say I’m completely happy with my dodgy standard of editing or my totally awkward persona in this video BUT everyone has to start somewhere! At least there’s room for improvement…

So feel free to take a look and let me know your favorite piece.

Two ways to wear a cropped printed jumpsuit- Part 2

floraljumpsuit floraljumpsuit3 floraljumpsuit6floraljumpsuit8floraljumpsuit7 floraljumpsuit9

Hello Lovelies! I know this post is supposed to be all about the jumpsuit but… First things first- some of you may have noticed that tonight is Bonfire Night. I’m super duper excited to go see some fireworks at our local display, which always turns out to be an amazing show. And maybe get some hot chocolate too for good measure. Once Bonfire Night is over the happiest time of year also begins (it’s Christmas time in case you’re wondering!) In my head anyway- I know not everyone is so full of Christmas cheer. Unfortunately.

But I suppose if you’ve come to this post you’re probably here for the clothes and not my yabbering…

This is one of the few outfits that I’ve uploaded in a lonnnnng time where I’m like you know what I really love this look. To begin with, I wasn’t sure whether the jumpsuit would look so great layered as its such a summery piece but I think it really works for Autumn. I also absolutely adore this belt and just wish I wore it more often. It was available in two colours when I bought it and I should’ve really went for both! These Primark booties are so old that I’m honestly surprised they’re still going. It seems  Primark’s quality is actually better than people give it credit for. And it’s great to have a bit more height because lets be honest as a little person (5ft3 eek!) its not often that I feel tall wearing culottes. And particularly not a jumpsuit with culottes.

Black Velvet Dress

velvet-dress velvet-dress4velvet-dress5velvet-dress6velvet-dress7 velvet-dress9velvet-dress8velvet-dress3velvet-dress2Velvet dress (similar) – Motel | Blouse (similar) – Warehouse | Bowling Bag- Vivienne Westwood | Watch- Olivia Burton

Hello Lovelies! I’m feeling very 60s inspired in this little get up. Although I also have a bit of a Victoriana look going on- all black velvet and high necklines. So who knows where were at! The only issue I have with this outfit is footwear. I just couldn’t make a decision on what looks best… I tried it with brogues, I tried it with ankle boots. Now I’m thinking that perhaps over the knee boots may have been the way forward?

Velvet seems to be everywhere this season- in all sorts of unexpected colours. I’ve played it safe by going for a classic black number but I have got to admit I kind of have a soft spot for some ugly green and yellow pieces I’ve seen. I’m also still seriously repping the layering trend AGAIN in this weeks post. This blouse has been a favourite of mine all summer. I only really bought it in the first place as it went down to about £5 at work.

Recently I’ve been having such a nightmare with my hair, I just keep scraping it back as I’m so unhappy with it. I completely regret cutting my long locks and it just makes me want to sob! I’m considering getting a fringe to make it a bit more edgy but am trying to avoid the hairdresser so that I can grow it out. It’s such a catch 22…

Thoughts ect?

Oversize Camel Coat

Hello Lovelies! And welcome to a very autumnal themed blog post. To be completely honest I’m so sick of hearing the word autumnal and I’m pretty sure you must be too. But I’m just gonna throw it out there one last time…

So as you can see I have got my hands on a perfect oversize camel coat recently. I’ve been keeping my eye out for one for a good few winters now but nothing has seemed like the ‘one’ – if that makes sense? Well it is true that good things come to those who wait and I snapped this one up from ASOS outlet for a stupidly good price. I guess it must be last years stock. I can be one of those people who goes for the most current, trend led pieces sometimes. So I’m feeling pretty pleased with myself for stepping away from my usual habits. Next stop, a little vintage shopping perhaps.

Anyway I’ve decided to keep it current with a bit of awkward layering which is so popular right now. Along with these awesome patchwork snakeskin booties. They’re actually really uncomfortable to walk in but look great at this time of year. I think it’s something about the orange leaves that make these tones pop in photos. Unfortunately WordPress has a habit of destroying the quality of my images and making them look all pixelated when I upload them. Which is driving me crazy. I’m no good when it comes to coding so it’s gonna take me a while to fix this issue I reckon! Enough of the tech talk though…

The Silver Slip Dress

silver-dress-9silver-dress-7silver-dress-12 silver-dress-13Dress- Motel | Top (similar) – ASOS | Leather Jacket (similar)- Topshop | Sunglasses (similar)- Topshop

Oh how I do love a slip dress these days! Lately I have been guilty of wearing them layered over anything I can get my mits on. T-shirts, roll necks, blouses, shirts- it’s all acceptable with this look. It doesn’t even have to be a dress, my collection of cami tops seems to be rapidly expanding by the day (almost).

I can’t help feeling that its all very cliche of me. I’m sure you have seen this look a million times over from Blogger to Pinterest to Instagram. I think the thing that I love about it is that it’s sort of taking two garments that really shouldn’t work together and just going with it. Which is why I went for this wonderful little oversize silver number from Motel, who have a great collection of slip dresses right now FYI.  It gives me flash back to visions of the stylish women of the 90s. And I’ve got to say I’m a big fan of anything 90s inspired…

What do you think of the 90s trends?

The Botanical Gardens

1 35 24678Cami– Topshop | Culottes- Zara | Ballet shoes– Zara | Choker– Missguided @ ASOS

In hindsight we probably didn’t pick the best day to take a visit to The Botanical Gardens in Aberdeen earlier this week. Spending time in what is essentially a huge greenhouse on the warmest day of the Summer was both enjoyable but pretty uncomfortable. There’s something so uplifting about being out and about in the sunshine though. And being around all this greenery is super relaxing. We also had a little walk through the park and even managed to get lunch on a terrace in Aberdeen city centre- there’s a first time for everything!

I thought I had made a pretty good choice of outfit but turns out all black eveything and faux leather shoes isn’t a great summer combination- who would have known? I recently bought these culottes from Zara as I’d been eyeing up a similar pair from Topshop all summer long, but decided to save a few pennies. I do actually love them and expect to wear them plenty but you know when you look at a photo of your outfit and you’re a bit unimpressed? Yeah that’s how I feel right now- a bit what’s the word- meh. So at least I have plenty of cactus photos to fill in the gaps. Because who doesn’t love a good cactus afterall… I’m actually considering becoming one of those people who just collects cacti and fills their home with them.

Thoughts?

Polka dot

Hello Hello! And a happy Sunday to you where ever you are…

I’ve developed a bit of a love for polka dots in recent days. Yeah yeah I know I’m several months late to the party- as usual! I think we’ve all seen a bit of a polka dot print everywhere this summer. But its fine I’m confident I can make it work into Autumn. PLUS… These cami tops were like £6 in the Topshop sale! Who could say no? Not me that’s for sure. That’s why I bought one in each colour (oh dear- I’m turning into my mother..).

Anyways I also decided to dig out these super old trousers from somewhere in the back of my wardrobe. They go pretty well with a strappy top and used to be a firm favourite of mine many years back. As did MAC Heroine- who didn’t love purple lipstick for a while? Talking of which I should really buy a new one cos this has gotta be way past its sell by….
