Wonderful Edinburgh

edinburgh edinburgh3edinburgh7edinburgh6 edinburgh5edinburgh2I feel like if you follow a lot of UK blogs or Instagram accounts, you have probably already heard Edinburgh’s praises a hundred times over. But yes I’m here to once again tell you not only how it is one of the most beautiful cities in the UK but also that it is one of the most inspiring. OK so I’m gonna make a grand statement here and say that in my opinion it is the UK’s prettiest city. I mean there’s a whole host of Insta accounts dedicated to showing off just how photogenic the place is. And FYI here are a few of my faves: igersedinburgh, exploringedinburgh and travelswithmyphone. So really the final lady travels but Edinburgh features a lot in her feed.

Beautiful architecture and quaint cobbled streets aside, there is so much to see in the Scottish capital. I’m lucky to have been brought up fairly close to the Scottish Boarder so my parents were much more likely to take us on a trip to Edinburgh than London as a desperate attempt to keep us entertained¬†in ¬†the school holidays. But I’ve got to say I was always pretty OK with that. The city is full of history, galleries, awesome shopping and great places to eat. Not to mention the zoo! Plus it’s especially beautiful at Christmas time.

These photos were taken a few weeks ago when me and my mam took a day trip on the train. I know all the bad blogger points for me taking so long to get this post organised! I returned home feeling inspired and can’t wait for my next visit- for a bit of Christmas shopping perhaps?

Have you ever been to Edinburgh? Thoughts?

The Botanical Gardens

1 35 24678Cami– Topshop | Culottes- Zara | Ballet shoes– Zara | Choker– Missguided @ ASOS

In hindsight we probably didn’t pick the best day to take a visit to The Botanical Gardens in Aberdeen earlier this week. Spending time in what is essentially a huge greenhouse on the warmest day of the Summer was both enjoyable but pretty uncomfortable. There’s something so uplifting about being out and about in the sunshine though. And being around all this greenery is super relaxing. We also had a little walk through the park and even managed to get lunch on a terrace in Aberdeen city centre- there’s a first time for everything!

I thought I had made a pretty good choice of outfit but turns out all black eveything and faux leather shoes isn’t a great summer combination- who would have known? I recently bought these culottes from Zara as I’d been eyeing up a similar pair from Topshop all summer long, but decided to save a few pennies. I do actually love them and expect to wear them plenty but you know when you look at a photo of your outfit and you’re a bit unimpressed? Yeah that’s how I feel right now- a bit what’s the word- meh. So at least I have plenty of cactus photos to fill in the gaps. Because who doesn’t love a good cactus afterall… I’m actually considering becoming one of those people who just collects cacti and fills their home with them.

Thoughts?
