OOTD // Button Down Skirt

// Skirt- Topshop / Blouse- Urban Outfitters / Boots- New Look / Hat- Primark / Sunglasses- Topshop //

I’ve been thinking about buying a button down skirt for a while and finally decided to just go for it. I’m pretty happy to find it goes with so much of my wardrobe and is super versatile. I reckon I can wear it into Autumn with some thick tights and ankle booties. Today I’ve gone for this reallllly old blouse from Urban Outfitters. It’s one of those items that I just can’t face throwing out as it still looks so cute every time I wear it.
I’ve also had about 4 inches chopped off my hair this week. Anyone else love the fresh feeling of a haircut? I just want to shake my head about….

OOTD // The Denim Tee

// T- shirt- Topshop/ Culottes- Asos/ Sandals- Topshop/ Satchel- Asos/ Watch- Olivia Burton/ Necklace- H&M//

Hey Lovelies! Today I’ve gone for an extremely cool and attractive look, which I’m sure any guy would love… Jokes…  But who doesn’t want a combination of denim t shirt, oversize culottes, unattractive sandals and thick framed glasses on a sunny day? All I’m saying is geek chic is going to be big this season- it would be rude of me not to partake really…
I’ve become a little obsessed with this rusty tone lately. Maybe it’s my excitement for Autumn- can we just take a moment to appreciate the few dead leaves on the ground. Well my trousers match those leaves and I can say that I’m pretty comfortable with that. My denim tee and sandals are recent Topshop sale finds. My glasses are actually real prescription glasses but lets be honest- I’d still wear them even if they weren’t!

Much Love.

OOTD // Topshop Stripe Skirt

// Top- Topshop/ Skirt- Topshop/ Shoes- River Island/ Hoop Earrings- H&M//

Ok, I know that this skirt is very popular at the moment. When I was in London I must have seen it at least ten times. But when you see something so often sometimes you’ve just got to give in and buy it too- that’s my excuse anyway… I’m always unsure about the midi length on me- I’m not really tall enough to pull it off, but this skirt comes with a handy split to flash a bit more leg if you’re a shorty like me! It comes in a similar design with green and blue as well which you can have a peek at HERE if you’re interested. And yes I’m still wearing my lace up flats to death but that’s not likely to change anytime soon. So sorry if you’re easily offended by that sort of thing!

Life Lately // Five Friday Favourites

I don’t know if you may have noticed but my blogging has been a little sporadic lately. I’m keen to get back to regular posting and continue to work on my blog but until then I wanted to have a little catch up on general life.
I recently started a new job which has been both very exciting and very tiring; it’s strange becoming accustomed to working hard everyday after being in a slow paced environment for so long. Generally, I’m really enjoying getting the chance to work with brands I’m interested in.
I’m also super duper excited to be moving into my new flat on Tuesday. My housing situation has kind of been up in the air for the last few months- note: this does not help organise a blog or well anything really! So it feels amazing that I’ve finally found somewhere suitable that I can just relax in and get my fairy lights up obvs…
So I expect to be back to ‘normal’ blogging soon which is good because I like it and stuff- you know! And for now a few of my favourites this week.

1. My adult colouring book. Because basically I’m still just a little girl who likes to colour things in but now I can stay in the lines (mostly). I bought the Secret Garden colouring book which also gives you little drawing activities throughout. That was such a bonus as drawing is one of my favourite things too.

2. The Shake Shack. I went there for lunch when I was in London last week. It was packed to the brim but completely worth the wait and the crowds of people. We actually ate it sitting on the pavement outside and it was still awesome.
3. Actually just London in general. I feel like I had forgotten how much I love the place. My recent trip made me long for a life in the capital. .. or just a big city to be honest. So watch this space, I never know where life might take me next.
4. Sunbeam Jess. My favourite YouTuber of the moment. Only problem is I end up with major wardrobe envy every single time I watch one of her videos. Le sigh…
5. These Aldo sunglasses. Ok, they’re not much use now that I’m back in Aberdeen. But they were fun while they lasted. And who said wearing cat eye sunglasses in the pouring rain was strictly not ok??

What are your current favourites?

Photodiary // London

I’ve just gotten back from a long weekend down in London. It feels like we did so much while we were away but I only managed to get a hand full of photos. We stayed at the Qbic Hotel near Brick Lane, which was an amazing find especially for the price. The whole place has a really quirky, modern feel and the food in the restaurant (especially the chips!) was so good. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone staying in London for a few days. Can I just point out some more food highlights- yes I know I’m so obsessed with eating! The Shake Shack in Covent Garden has got to be the best fast food I’ve ever eaten, seriously those burgers are so good. We also went for a high tea picnic with a view in the Shard, you can see an assortment of the little cakes above (yes they were as tasty as they look!).

We spent Sunday in Camden exploring the market and relaxing in a rooftop bar- something we were both so keen to do. You just don’t get the sunshine to enjoy rooftop anything in Scotland! James went to see an Arsenal game as he’s a massive fan which gave me a free afternoon to visit a few galleries and do some shopping. I think art and creativity are the thing I miss most since moving to Aberdeen so it was great to spend some time doing something cultural.

I’ll finish my post with some photos of the stunning view from the Shard, it’s amazing to see that the city stretches so far into the distance. It’s been at least four years since I last visited London and I completely forgot how much I love being there. I hope to be back soon!
Any recommendations for our next trip?
